Hong Kong Chinese Buffet El
Paso, Texas
This project required the complete rehabilitation of a 14,000
sq. ft. movie theater space into a 12,000 sq. ft. Chinese buffet
restaurant and a 2000 sq. ft. storage warehouse space in a
retail strip center on Yarbrough Ave. in east El Paso.
The scope of
services included architectural and engineering survey, design
and construction administration. The design was coordinated
with the Hong Kong Buffet kitchen design consultant from
New York.
Because the existing amphitheater had a sloped floor layout
the rehabilitation work required the demolition and reconstruction
of structural elements and floor slabs and the removal of
all existing finishes, systems and fixtures to create a
shell space
for new components. New work included new HVAC, plumbing
and electrical systems for a large kitchen, self-serving
buffets
and complete new interior finishes (walls, floors and ceilings).
Cost: $750,000 Completion: April 2001
