El Paso Municipal Rose Garden Addition El Paso, Texas

The project encompasses some renovation and a new expansion to the existing rose garden in Memorial Park located off Copia and Aurora Aves.

The renovation consist primarily in enhancing the “curb appeal” of the garden on Copia Avenue, in providing handicap accessibility from and to the different levels of the graden, and directing the visitors to the new entrance and expansion including monumental signage and parking area. The added new hardscape (structures) and softscape (plant material) will provide for an interesting treatment along Copia, and new vistas from the inside toward the West end of the garden. This new fence (rockwall, pillars and wrought iron) serves as a marker.

The garden expansion allows for a formal entrance marked with a Placita on the lower level, a main feature including a dry-arroyo, a water pond, stepped planters and walkways up to the top gathering /viewing area. This setting allows for vistas from all sides, integration of the land topography and the existing rose garden. Walkways and stairs or ramps along the landscaped terraces will take the visitor to the top through diverse set of experiences, vistas and situations in accordance with TAS codes. New drop-off and handicap parking spaces close by the new entrance will allow for proper accessibility.
