Lower Dyer Neighborhood RevitalizationEl Paso, Texas
We consider the Lower Dyer Neighborhood revitalization to be an exciting project. Wright and Dalbin is developing the conceptual Master Plan in coordination with the TVP Non-Profit representative. We propose to analyze the existing land use and conditions using the strategic plan land use map, zoning map and site observation and compare it to New Urbanism principles. Proposed homes will vary from 1,100 sqft to 1,300 sqft. They will fully comply with handicap accessibility codes and they will also be implemented with sustainable principlesWe intend to create a neighborhood in which all the activities are reachable via a short walk reducing the necessity for parking and pavement areas. By reducing parking we can create more landscaped areas, which will make the walks even more pleasant. We are aiming to have amenities no more than a 5 minute walk away.Elements such as tree-lined streets, sidewalks, greens, playgrounds, parks, benches, picnic shelters and gazebos define neighborhood’s public spaces and offer valuable community amenities are also to be included
